Moab, Utah

I’m in Moab tonight. I spent the day in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. This is a stretch of the Colorado River, east of Moab.

I escaped north from Gulf Coast sauna. It’s dry, sunny and cool in Taos, New Mexico. This is the Moby Dickens Bookstore, in the Plaza. It’s one of my favorite places.


Blue Ridge Mountains

I’m on Skyline Drive in Virginia. I’m following the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian Trail SW to Great Smoky National Park. These are Tulip Trees in the northern section.


Chesepeake & Delaware Canal

This is one of two parallel steam engines used to fill the locks at Chesapeake City for the C&D Canal. The water wheel they powered could lift 1 million gallons of water in an hour.


Adirondack Park

The weather was nice today behind the cold front, so I headed into Upstate New York to check out The Adirondack Museum on Lake Durant. The fall colors are starting to show themselves up there.

I’ve been exploring Toronto for the last couple of days. This is a marina on the waterfront looking up at the CN Tower. Note the cool wavy dock.
