I’m in Cuyahoga Valley National Park in NE Ohio. There are waterfalls and canal tow bike paths. Check out the September Sierra Club Wilderness Calendar page. This is Bridal Veil Falls on Tinkers Creek, just upstream of the Cuyahoga River.

I’m not in Kansas anymore.

It’s Bad!

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

I’m in the Badlands National Park. This is the view west toward Rapid City and the Black Hills from the Pinnacle View Point.

This is a view of the Wall from Prairie Wind looking northwest. This where Chief Big Foot and his tribe passed through the Badlands on their way to the ill fated Wounded Knee Massacre.

I’m having a Devil of a time!

Monday, September 21st, 2009

I’m at Devils Tower in NE Wyoming. I’ll hike around this morning and then head for the Badlands.

Yellowstone – Lamar Valley

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

We hiked up the Lamar Valley today in Northern Yellowstone Park to do some fly fishing. There was a small fire brewing in the mountains to the north. The rangers were telling everyone to that it was being watched, and not to report it again. We had to detour on the way back to avoid a buffalo herd on the trail.

Port Townsend – Wooden Boat Festival

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I’m at the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend. This is a Magic Wing, a replica of a 1919 Atkins 10′ sailing dinghy.

This is an Old Shoe, a Ray Bolger design. He recently passed away and several of his designs are featured at the WBF this year.
