I’m getting close.  I need to glue on the rubber gunwale bumpers and then Petey is ready to sail to Florida.

PT11 Reorg

The shop got too crowded with 2 boats in process, so the SCAMP got archived for now,  and the mobile platform re-purposed for the PT11 build.   The bulkheads on the bench got glued into the hull yesterday.

I’m building a PT11 Nesting Dinghy kit from Port Townsend Watercraft for a client.   Here’s the stitched up hull.   The gunwales get attached tomorrow.


SCAMP Assembly

I’ve coated the planks, aft bulkheads, and boat bottom.  I need to fiberglass the centerboard case next and then start assembling the boat.

I’m building a small sailboat designed by John Welsford.  It’s called SCAMP and is a project created by Small Craft Advisor magazine.  I’m finishing up the building jig at the moment.

Yellowstone – Lamar Valley

I’m back in Yellowstone Park.  Everything should be shutdown by now but the weather is glorious. Here’s some fall color along the Lamar River in the north edge of the park.

Oregon Trail – Lander-cutoff, WY

I was heading through northwest Wyoming on my way to the Tetons today when I ran across a section of the Oregon Trail. This is the Lander-cutoff which saved about 5 day on the trail. You can still see the wagon ruts.
